| I modified a new wall clock over the
weekend. I received it as a house-warming present a few years ago
- but never opened it up. So I took it apart and tweaked it to
give it some personality. Going to keep this in my cube at work -
but I might make another one for home!

| Party!
Thanks to everyone who came to the party! I had a fantastic housewarming - I think probably 40-50 people came through here on Saturday night. Sara and Vickie organized the event and catered it with lots of food and appetizers and wine, plus they had live music! They took pictures and are making me a photo album - I'll be sure to post any pictures I get online.

Big Monkey
There was a big inflated monkey at the party. He greeted people at the door. Thanks, Allen! Actually the monkey's pretty cool - I wanted to go driving with it in my passenger side... and I wanted to bring it to work and leave it sitting in my chair at my desk... but i haven't been so bold yet.
Plants
I did receive three plants! Thank you plant givers! I promise to keep them alive as long as possible. Friends that come and visit: please remind me to water them. No... I decided not to take bets on which one will die first.
No Effects
FYI: I was fine. Just had some wine and most excellent patron... my friends all agree that the beverages had no effect on me whatsoever that evening. | | |
| House Cleaning
I am giving my house warming party tonight... actually in a few minutes - and i sepnt all yesterday and all today really trying to clean the place up. This is the cleanest my house has ever been - and it still isn't totally sorted out yet. I have stuff jammed into closets, stuff in the garage, in drawers, etc. New furnniture is on the horizon. The bonus room still needs a theme.
But the thing that I am most excited about is that three worlds will collide tonight! My friends from work will meet my friends from church who will meet my friends from long ago and friends through friends - friends of family; friends i don't know so well yet; friends i don't get to see enough. And still, many dear friends will not be able to make it tonight - but hopefully, this will be the first of many gatherings.

| Loser
No... you're not a loser. No... I'm not a loser. Can you tell me what's wrong with this smiley?
So a coworker of mine was trying to make fun of me and call me a loser. She put her hand to her forehead to make the loser gesture... however, it was the wrong hand, forming a backwards L! My response? "<ahem> Who is the loser?" And thus was born the Loser's Loser smiley, in honor of that special moment.
It is true. I will occassioinally make inside joke smileys. | | |
